GETTING STARTED

How to Use

Creating a tape is simple, but adding songs is manual. You choose each YouTube video, copy its link, and paste it into your tape.

Need some inspiration?

Visit the Example Tapes page to listen to completed tapes and see how songs and personal notes can work together. Start with the Ultimate 80s Mixed Tape, with more decades coming soon.

1

Create a new tape

Select New Tape. Enter a tape title, who it is for, who it is from, and an optional message or image.

2

Find a video on YouTube

Open YouTube and find the song or video you want to add.

3

Copy the YouTube link

On YouTube, select Share and then Copy link. You can also copy the address from your browser.

4

Add the link to your tape

Return to Make A Mixed Tape, select Add YouTube Link, and paste the link. You may also add your own title and a short personal note.

5

Repeat for each track

Add one YouTube link at a time. Use the arrow buttons in the editor to change the track order.

6

Save your tape

Select Save Tape. The site will create a public listening link and a private editing link.

7

Share the public link

Send the public link to the person receiving the tape. Keep the private editing link for yourself.

Important

Anyone with the private editing link may be able to edit or delete the tape. Do not share that link publicly.
