Privacy Information

Make A Mixed Tape is designed to work without user accounts. We do not ask users to register a username, password, or personal profile before creating a tape.

Information stored with a tape

When a tape is saved, the application may store information supplied by its creator, including:

• The tape title.
• The recipient and creator names entered by the user.
• The tape message and theme.
• YouTube video identifiers and playlist order.
• Track titles and personal track notes.
• Optional uploaded artwork.
• The date and time the tape was created or updated.

Users should avoid placing private, confidential, or sensitive personal information in a tape.

No user profiles

Tape records are not intentionally connected to a registered user profile because the application does not currently provide user accounts.

Each tape instead has a public sharing code and a separate private editing token. Anyone who obtains the private management link may be able to edit or delete that tape.

Information saved in your browser

The application uses browser local storage to remember tapes created or recovered in that browser. This information may include the tape’s public code, title, recipient, and private edit token.

Browser local storage remains on the device until it is cleared by the user, removed by the browser, or deleted by application code.

Technical server information

Like most websites, the web server, reverse proxy, hosting provider, or security services may automatically create technical logs. Those logs can include information such as:

• IP address.
• Browser and device information.
• Requested page or resource.
• Date and time of a request.
• Error and security information.

These logs may be used for security, troubleshooting, reliability, and abuse prevention. They are not intended to create public user profiles.

YouTube and Google

YouTube videos are displayed through an embedded YouTube player. When a visitor loads or uses that player, YouTube and Google may receive information and use cookies or similar technologies according to their own policies.

Review the Google Privacy Policy for information about Google’s privacy practices.

Public sharing

Anyone who receives a public tape link may be able to view the tape’s title, message, artwork, track list, and personal notes. Do not include information that should remain private.

Deleting a tape

A creator with the private management link can use the application’s delete function to request permanent deletion of the tape from the application database.

Limited information may remain temporarily in server backups or technical logs until those systems are rotated or deleted under normal operations.

Changes to this notice

This privacy notice may be updated if the application’s features, hosting, or data practices change.
